Bio Norman E. Smith, L.Ac. has worked in health-care delivery since January 1975. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 1971. He began his study of acupuncture in January 1974 with the Occidental Institute of Chinese Studies and subsequently worked two years as an emergency room technician at a community hospital. From January 1976-77 he apprenticed with and received tutorial training from Dr. Kai Nien Cheng, a master acupuncturist with over 30 years experience. Thereafter, he entered the Swedish Institute for Massage Therapy graduating in November 1977. During that time he also studied Shiatsu with Wataru Ohashi. He attended the New England School of Acupuncture from September 1978 to June 1980. Upon graduation he was registered with the Massachusetts State Board of Medicine as an acupuncturist and began a private practice in acupuncture. During the years he was in New England he worked with the Acupuncture Project at Long Island Hospital (Boston Harbor), the Pain and Stress Relief Clinic at Lemual Shattuck Hospital (Jamaica Plane, MA) and as an instructor at the New England School of Acupuncture. In the intervening years he has maintained a private practice in Oriental medicine and has continued his studies in natural healing including training in neuromuscular therapy, Reconnective Healing®, Matrix Energetics and continuing education in acupuncture 
and Oriental medicine. Mr. Smith is certified by The National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, 
is a Licensed Acupuncturist in the State of Colorado and a member of the Acupuncture Association of Colorado.
